System Exclusive U.K./EU Fall Tour
System Exclusive hit the road overseas this Fall, including select festival dates. Dates and ticket links are HERE. Thanks to our friends at Outsider Artists and Sonic PR for making it happen.
>> Following the release of their recent EP, ‘Party All The Time’, (out now on Mt St Mtn/Six Tonnes De Chair), the Pasadena, California duo will be landing in the UK for a slew of over 23 live shows nationwide.
Kicking off with a set at this year’s End of the Road Festival, the duo of Ari Blaisdell and Matt Jones will be taking their electrifying live set to venues the length and breadth of the country, from Southampton (6th Sept), via London, Glasgow, Manchester, Bristol and beyond, before wrapping-up at Bath’s The Royal Oak at the end of the month (30th Sept). Tickets are on sale now, with full dates and details are listed below.
Speaking about the upcoming tour Matt Jones says:
“We came to play the UK last September for the first time and we immediately felt at home. Where American audiences tend to treat us as a not-unwelcome oddity or a synthy aberration, y'all just seemed to get it. We've been plotting our return ever since, and thankfully we were asked to play the End of the Road (we're chuffed) which gave us a great excuse to come back. We've been on the road more times than not ever since, we're road sharpened with new tunes and a new record to share with you. We're really looking forward to getting to know the homeland of our heroes - Depeche Mode, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Bowie, Gary Numan, New Order, too many others to count!”
Armed with an arsenal of mini synths and a pocketful of Tarantino-dusted riffs at their disposal, System Exclusive are a duo who make heart-throbbing, capital P pop punch with more than a hint of post-punk. Composed of vocalist/guitarist Ari Blaisdell (previously of Lower Self, The Beat Offs) and drummer/synth deviant Matt Jones (previously of Male Gaze, Blasted Canyons), together the pair have uncovered an explosive chemistry of sound. Blaisdell’s vocals hearken back to open hearted 80’s hitmakers unafraid to quaver in the name of love, while they’re buoyed by Jones’ laser-gridded synth concoctions and heavy hand on the ones-and-twos.
Releasing their self-titled debut album in 2021 (via Castle Face Records), the record quickly attracted the attention of the legendary Henry Rollins (Black Flag/State of Alert) who praised “it’s a case of two great tastes that taste great together… Their multi genre/time period collision is like a car accident where all parties walk away not only unscathed but sure they had a great time, like two different recording sessions sharing the same space and making it work”.
Hot on its heels, System Exclusive followed the release with a new EP in April entitled ‘Party All The Time’. Recorded at Page Street Studios in Portland following a frantic drive through the black of night and severe weather conditions, the duo arrived to throw every morsel of their shattered human shells into three unhinged new tracks unlike any they had laid down before. As Jones recalls:
“We gamely blasted through these three songs in four hours before their next session, including our cover of the Rick James and Eddy Murphy’s stone-cold electro-funk classic, “Party All the Time”. For everything that went wrong preceding (and following) the session, those 4 hours went amazingly right, and this record is the result.”
Polished up by the studio’s own Frankie and Leon, the results proved to be some of their most raw and exhilarating work yet. The EP was released by the Mt.St.Mtn label earlier this year. With plans to begin writing its follow-up in Glasgow later this Summer, standby for further new material from System Exclusive very soon…
Having proven their mettle in lengthy tours across the USA, as well as numerous nations across the globe, don’t miss System Exclusive at these UK venues this Autumn.
